Dillyhearts ~ the name explained!

For those of you wondering how I came up with the name dillyhearts, here's the scoop! When I was little, my mom sang to me all the time. Silly songs... lullabies...songs from musicals...and I loved them all. One of my favorites was "Lavender blue, dilly dilly, lavender green, when you are king, dilly dilly, I shall be queen." It inspired the theme for my baby daughter's room - from the soft paint colors to the lyrics written on the walls - and inspired the color scheme for the website as well as the name.

Webster defines dilly as "delightful, one that is remarkable or outstanding." A fabulous word. One that makes me think of my kids and how I feel about them. One that evokes a feeling of nostalgia about my own childhood. The perfect inspiration for the first part of the name, and to me, the perfect pairing with hearts.

A big part of my vision for Dillyhearts is to support an organization I feel strongly about. Three of my good friends have children who were born with serious heart problems. Thankfully, they are now all doing great, and knowing them inspired me to find a way to help. A portion of all sales from dillyhearts.com are donated to The Heart Center at Seattle Children's Hospital.
